“The best Purpose statements are worded in unambiguous terms with clear commitments.”

June is an expert in community engagement initiatives, with 25 years of public service – in the Home Office and the Department of Communities and Local Government – and, latterly, voluntary sector experience.

June’s personal Purpose is “to facilitate discussion, to act as a catalyst or a conduit for ideas and thoughts.”

While in government, June was on the frontline of follow-up action to the riots in Northern towns in 2001 and the aftermath of the London 7/7/2005 bombings. Her public-sector career culminated in her heading up the team tasked with embedding positive interaction initiatives in communities, leading government’s involvement in The Big Lunch and other large-scale community-based projects.

From 2011 to 2015, June was a Director of Your Square Mile, a social enterprise encouraging people to become active in their communities. Recently she has been involved in an initiative organised by the Lutheran diocese of Giessen, bringing together global community representatives around the UN 2030 goals.

June is a Fellow of the RSA and was awarded an OBE for her work in 2011.
